Club Secretary Nicky Thomas elected as Webmaster for Welsh Lawn Bowls
Victoria Saints Bowls Club is proud to share that Club Secretary Nicky Thomas has been confirmed as the new Webmaster for Welsh Lawn Bowls, following his election at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting held on 4 December 2025 at Merthyr Tydfil Indoor Bowls. The appointment reflects both Nicky’s professional expertise and his growing contribution to the sport at local and national levels.
Nicky, who took on the role of Club Secretary earlier this year, has already played a central part in modernising the club’s operations, strengthening governance and developing a more accessible digital presence for members and supporters. His background in senior ICT management within the public sector brings a forward-thinking, strategic approach to club administration—qualities that have clearly resonated with the Welsh Lawn Bowls executive committee.
Speaking after his ratification, Nicky said:
“I was delighted to attend the Welsh Lawn Bowls AGM and am deeply grateful for the executive nomination and election to serve as the next Webmaster for Welsh Lawn Bowls. I look forward to applying my expertise and strategic vision to support and enhance the digital direction of bowls across Wales.”
Victoria Saints Bowls Club has long been recognised as an established and respected presence within the Welsh bowls community. Its history stretches back to 1909 and, following the 2017 merger of Victoria Bowls Club and St Helens Bowls Club, the club continues to balance tradition with innovation. Recent years have seen competitive achievements—including reclaiming the Division 1 title in 2025—as well as ongoing efforts to attract younger players and strengthen community links.
Welsh Lawn Bowls, created in 2023 from the unification of the former men’s and women’s governing bodies, is responsible for guiding the sport’s development, running national championships, and representing Wales internationally. Nicky’s new role places him at the heart of its digital strategy, supporting the organisation’s ambition to modernise systems, improve accessibility and strengthen communication with clubs across the country.
Nicky’s appointment is not only a significant personal achievement but also a point of pride for Victoria Saints. It reflects the club’s commitment to embracing modern approaches and contributing positively to the future of the game in Wales. Members and supporters will undoubtedly look forward to seeing how his expertise helps shape the national digital direction of the sport in the years ahead.
Victoria Saints Bowls Club congratulates Nicky on this achievement and looks forward to the enhanced collaboration and visibility this role will bring to the sport across Wales.
